Saving one person does not change the world. But the whole world changes for that person.
With the donations from #Ukrainespace, we surprised Irina and her two sons (aged 9 and 13) today.
After fleeing the Sumy region, their new accommodation was destroyed a few days after they moved in during the heavy attack on Ternopil. Their father is missing, and apart from a pile of clothes and a PlayStation without a controller, nothing remained of their previous life.
They are currently living in emergency accommodation with minimal furnishings, a broken stove, and the sofa serving as a place to sleep.
Over the past few days, we have organised beds, desks, chairs, a cooker and a microwave. We also got some cool rucksacks and shoes for the kids, as well as a supply of food, shopping vouchers, the missing controllers and, of course, sweets for Christmas.
With our packed bus and ‘Team Ternopil,’ we stood in front of the apartment door today...
